TWLOHA

I was just waiting for the perfect thing to blog about today!

I had completely forgotten what special day it was today. Fortunately, thanks to my amazing friends on Twitter, I found out.

Happy 'To Write Love on Her Arms' day, everyone.

TWLOHA is an organization founded back in 2006 special to help those who self-harm, who are suicidal, suffer from depression, or suffer from addiction. TWLOHA encourages people to speak out if they need help, and to not be afraid to do so. Many music groups have also chosen to promote the organization by wearing TWLOHA merchandise - people such as Hayley Williams from Paramore, Brendon Urie and Ryan Ross from Panic at the Disco, or Amy Lee from Evanescence. You can buy your own t-shirts or merchandise from the TWLOHA website. A picture of my shirt is shown above.

Go write 'love' on your arms today, people!

Guilty as charged - I used to self-harm. I recently stopped, however, after watching this video that made me so emotional that I just HAD to stop.

Can you guess what that video was about?

My Chemical Romance. Yep, you guessed right.

I actually watched it a really long time ago, but it didn't impact me as much as it did now. My internet was being an asshole, so at the end it kept pausing and such. When it got to the part where Gerard said, "You are not a cult, but an army, and nothing is worth hurting yourself over!" in that beautiful, majestic voice of his, it paused itself, and I suddenly blubbered up and started crying. I don't know why it happened to me then - I had heard Gerard say stuff about not self-harming before. But for some reason it just impacted me this time somehow.

Impact me how? Well, impacted me enough that I opened my drawer, found that little box my dad bought me from Egypt or somewhere, and dumped out every single object I would use to self harm. Then, I wrapped them in tissues, and went to the bathroom to throw them away.

I don't know how long I stood there, with those sharp objects in my hand and my arm dangling over a trash can, but I swear. It was hard. It was hard to throw away something you've been addicted to for the past year and a half. But when I did? When I heard that soft thunk as those objects hit the bottom of the trash can? I felt considerably lighter. Like a huge burden had been lifted off my shoulders.

It was a wonderful feeling. Much better than cutting itself.

I think this was an appropriate thing to share on TWLOHA day.

Happy TWLOHA day, everybody. Remember to always love yourself.

Clear some stuff up.

So far the response to my previous post were pretty negative. I think I need to clear some things up here. To make things easier, I'll just copy it from what I commented on MCR.com.

Look, I'm sorry if I offended anybody.
It's my opinion and I should be allowed to share it.

Yes, I am still waiting for the studio versions so I can judge the songs correctly. We all are. For now, I am judging what I have heard and seen so far. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

I have changed my mind the tiniest bit and I feel bad for being so harsh on MCR in that post. It's My Chemical Romance, so I know it will be amazing, no matter what.
And I can't diss it before it even comes out.
Not that I was dissing it in the first place. I wasn't at all.

It's not like I've stopped loving My Chem or anything. I'm just worried, that's all.

Again, sorry if I offended anyone, and I hope this clears stuff up.

There. That sums it up pretty quickly.

Sorry about all of that.

P.S Like the new header?

The World Is Ugly

Alright, I think it's time I give my opinion for what's to come in My Chemical Romance's new album.

I can't say much, since all we've heard so far that will definitely be on the album is Death Before Disco, The Drugs, and Kiss The Ring. And the sound quality for the recordings people took of those songs were pretty much crap. I could barely hear anything. Or perhaps that's how the song is supposed to be.

I had already guessed there was going to be a whole new My Chemical Romance right after I heard Desolation Row, which I admit, was a huge saddening surprise for me. I crossed my fingers that that was just how the people from Watchmen wanted it to sound like, and that it was a one time thing. But once MCR played at The Roxy, I knew I was wrong.

I had seen pictures of the 'new' them, too, all of which really worried me. I don't know why, but the sight of Gerard Way with no eyeliner is kind of sad. And when I heard none of them were ever going to wear make-up again, I could have thrown something.

Recently I've gotten even more worried about the album.

In the new issue of Kerrang!, Gerard states that this is the first non-concept album ever, and it was full of a lot of new angst. To me, this is translated into, this is the first album that doesn't relate to any listeners and therefore does not reach out to our fans like our previous albums have. There were some excerpts of lyrics that hinted this, as well.

Still Alive:
We came here to rough up everyone we see

Get off the stage and ask yourself "am I still alive?"
Hm. That really doesn't hit me as much as Famous Last Words did. Doesn't really hit me at all. Gerard mentioned he wrote it from the point of view of a teenager. I'm a teenager. I cannot relate to this in any way. Of course, it's just two lines. Perhaps the rest of the song will have something else in store for us.

Death For Disco:
'Cos all the good times
They give you cancer...
Is he talking about smoking or something? I really don't get this. It made me go, what the fuck? Are they insulting cancer? Where did this shit come from, My Chem?

Trans Am:
Gravity don't mean too much to me
Is this our destiny
This world is after me...
Alright, no offence, but this sounds exactly like a song I wrote the other day. Me. A young teenager still growing up. You guys are fully-experienced rock-fucking-stars and your lyrics are the same as a little girl's?

Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back:
You can leave this word, leave it all behind
We can steal this car if your folks don't mind
We can live forever if you've got the time
This is the best out of the four. The only reason I liked it is because it reminded me a tiny bit of Revenge. Just a tiny bit. And I don't know, it sounds a bit interesting.

The Black Parade was already a huge change - Gerard with his chopped blond hair and a whole new sound - but to me this was even huger. All these lyrics that just mean nothing to me at all. An album that doesn't actually speak out and have deep meaning that I can relate to.

Yes, I know. All those excerpts of lyrics I judged the songs by are just excerpts - just a few lines. It's hard to judge a song by just a few words, but because these are the lyrics they used in Kerrang! I am guessing they are pretty much the most important lyrics in the song; the chorus or whatnot. The chorus is basically the whole song, in a way.

The only thing that is keeping me excited for this album is the small amount of hope that one certain song will be on there.

The World Is Ugly.

Now, if you look at the picture I kindly added above, you might recognize it from Mikey Way's infamous 'Practice Cam - Dry-Erase Edition'. I think we can all guess that the song titles written on that dry-erase board are most likely going to be on the new album.

And guess what? I think it's pretty obvious that in that particular Dry-Erase Edition of Practice Cam, The World Is Ugly was written on the board. Which means? The World Is Ugly will most likely be on the album.

This is great news for me. The World Is Ugly was the only new song that was actually pleasing to my ear. Stay Awake was as well, except it's not yet confirmed if Stay Awake will be on the album.

Just several minutes ago, I was listening to what I believe is the best version of TWIU out there on the internet. I will give you the link, but let me remind you, that I have absolutely nothing to do with this video. It is not mine. I am merely reccomending you watch it.

You can find it here.

I've seen people say the lyrics are pretty sucky and depressive, and very un-MCR-like. Which brings me to my next point.

The lyrics in the up-coming album might seriously suck, but the vocals and guitars might just pull me in enough to love it. Maybe, just maybe, after a few listens I might be able to be fine with this new My Chemical Romance.

Because honestly, even if the lyrics in TWIU are sucky and depressive, the vocals are goddamn wow. I mean, just listen to him scream out 'happy' in that line Are you happy now? It just sent shivers down my spine. And how it starts out slowly and quietly - like in Disenchanted - then, bam, pure guitar heaven, is just incredibly beautiful.

Who knows. I might change my mind completely when I actually get to hear some studio versions of the songs. But for now, I'm biting my fucking nails, hoping they create something that will make me love them even more.

30 Seconds To Mars: New Video

30 Seconds To Mars just posted a new tweet about their hit song, Kings and Queens.

Check out our new video for "Kings and Queens" right now on MySpace Music -- http://lnk.ms/0cwy3

Go check out their new video, now!

My Chemical Romance Updates

As almost all of you know, the popular rock magazine Kerrang! has a new exclusive about My Chemical Romance's new album. This is very exciting to know My Chemical Romance is coming back, and very soon.

Gerard Way revealed that this will be the first album that is not a concept album. Surprising? Ever since Desolation Row was released, I could have guessed. He also mentioned that they were taking their time on the record, to have "...the luxury of exploring every song.”

Thoughts? Comments?

Check out the whole article here, and go out and buy that magazine!

Fan Fictions

This post was deleted because I am completely and utterly against ANY sort of fan-fiction at the moment, especially if it involves something called 'slash'.

Blogs Are The New Fashion

Blogs are the new fashion these days.

So I guess I can say, I used to be in fashion back in the days I had a blog, but not until I forgot my password and shit. Plus it was a WordPress, Blogspot is so much cooler. And I have to admit, this new blog will be so much cooler than my old one.

Alright. So be prepared for lots of news about music. If you don't like it - don't read it. I get sick of haters. Pretty much I'll try to post about all the bands I like (album reviews, concert reviews, general news, and such) and also keep news updated on My Chemical Romance.

Okay, bam, pause for one second.

Let me repeat that rule once more.

If you don't like it - don't read it.

This is your warning. If you do not like My Chemical Romance, then don't waste your time and just get the hell out of here. The whole point of this blog is to promote music, in this case it is mostly My Chemical Romance. You will find tons of My Chemical Romance related material on this blog, so what's the point of you sticking around?

So, haters, go click that big red X and just don't waste your time leaving hate comments.

Everyone else, though, welcome!

Yes, I know, this is a shitty first post, but my first posts are always shitty.

The next few days will probably be me figuring out how to use this piece of junk - since I'm used to WordPress - but keep coming back. There will be some interesting stuff, I promise!
