Happy Birthday Bobert

Happy Birthday to our favorite camera-hating ninja, Bob Bryar.

MCRmy Twitter Domination

[[Note: I speak of the MCRmy as the MCR community as a whole, not as the official 'Rmy.]]

Yep, that's right. The MCRmy has dominated Twitter once again.

Check out the trending topics, and you'll know what I'm talking about. Huge shout-out goes to the MCRmyBR for their extreme hard work with getting this to trend! You guys are awesome! And high fives all around to everyone else who's been tweeting away to get this to work! We dominated Twitter with #ieroween, and with #happybirthdaymikey, now Bob has dominated Twitter too. Gerard and Ray are still waiting for their turns!

You guys ROCK!

xoxo
Deedee

P.S: I will keep my eyes open and post again if #bobearday ever gets higher on the trends list! Keep tweetin'.

**EDIT**

Apparently, #bobearday got to FIFTH PLACE on the Trending Topic list! That is amazing!

Unfortunately I did not witness that - the highest I witnessed was sixth. I took a screen-shot for your viewing pleasure:

This is awesome you guys! At the moment, #bobearday is not trending, but the MCR community is currently trying to get #HappyBobBryarDay to trend. As mentioned in a previous post, we all voted on such hashtag so we are all tweeting the same thing-- therefore increasing the chace of a trending topic. The Brazilian 'Rmy happened to have their own hashtag (#bobearday), though, and theirs trended.

So please, please, please help out and get tweeting! We've done it before, we can do it again!

And just in case anybody is wondering, 'bobearday' is a little inside joke to the Brazilian MCRmy-- that Bob is a 'teddy bear'. Get it? At first I thought it was 'Bob beard day', but either w*y.

#HappyBobBryarDay Twitter Trend

Hey you guys.

You all should know what special day it is tomorrow!

No, not new year's eve. Bob Bryar's birthday!

In order to both promote My Chem and honor the drummer of our favorite band, let's all go to Twitter and get #HappyBobBryarDay to trend! All of us voted on the same hashtag so the chances of trending are higher.

Go, go, go. Get tweeting. And Happy [early] Birthday Bob Bryar!

The Rev

Today is a truly horrible day in rock history.

December the 28th, 2009 we will remember as the day we lost one of the most talented drummers ever. James "The Rev" Sullivan, of the band Avenged Sevenfold, passed away today. It was reported to be a natural death, but the cause is still being investigated. A message from the band was posted on their website reporting the news, to read it click here.

All of us, I am sure, are devastated to hear about this. The Rev will always be remembered in our hearts as a drumming-hero, and let us hope he is having fun rocking out in a better place right now.

R.I.P James Owen Sullivan.
You will be deeply missed, we love you.

Best wishes to his family, friends, and bandmates.

Looots of Shit.

I'll try my best to keep this blog active and up to date with any updates, but I don't really have any readers so it's quite pointless. However I will continue with it, just in case I do gather up a few readers (which would be awesome-- if you are reading this, huge thank you, and a high five).

So, first thing's first.

An idea popped into my head recently. It wasn't creative at all, but oh well, I figured if there's not one yet then it must be creative, right? What do you - my invisible readers - think about a My Chemical Romance caption contest through Twitter? I definitely have more Twitter friends than readers on this blog, so if I get the word out through there it might turn out successful.

My plan is this: a new picture will be put up on Twitter every Saturday and will be there for three weeks. Captions for said picture will be submitted through e-mail, because of the limited amount of characters provided on Twitter. Anyone who does not want to participate through e-mail could send it through DM, although in that case they will be limited to 140 characters in their caption. The last week is voting week. I am not sure yet how I am going to do this- one idea is to use this blog, and advertise enough so I get some people to actually come here and vote. Another easier idea would be to link to such captions on Twitter and have people DM me their votes. This will give participants two weeks to come up with a caption and submit it to me.

I have NO CLUE if I'm going to go through with this. To be honest, I am an extremely lazy person, and usually if I get inspiration for a project - like this - I never go through with it. So if I don't actually creative this My Chemical Captions thing, no pissy-ness please.

What else. Recently I bought The Umbrella Academy. Can you believe I haven't read it yet, until now? Yeah, I can't either, because this shit is motherfucking amazing. I'm basically obsessing over it now. It's not because it's written by the lead vocalist of my favorite band, it's because I love it. I haven't read Dallas yet - shame on me - but... I'd need to buy it before I read it, and I haven't found it yet. I'm really starting to get into comics. It's strange, I was never into them before. Sure, I liked shit like Garfield - I was goddamn obsessed with that fat orange cat as a kid - but never into superhero comics before. I even wanted to be a comic book author/artist once, but it was more because of stuff like Garfield, Peanuts... c'mon, I was 8 years old. I even tried drawing my own one once. It... well, I don't even want to remember it. It was about this fucking weird rabbit. He was crazy or something, his name was Bigears, and he was famous & trying to run for president. Yes, laugh, laugh all you want. I'm laughing too. Fun to remember that type of old shit.

But that didn't go too far. Heck, I don't think I've opened a comic book in 4 years-- until I read Watchmen not too long ago. I'm out to buy X-men next. Hah, I'm starting to like this shit! I'm proud.

Now, updates. Not really updates because they're quite old but whatever.

From December 23rd: New article about My Chemical Romance's new album from the magazine Spin. It talks about the theme of the new album and also talks a little about Gerard's personal life at home with family. To read it, click here.

From just now: A quick little article from Fuse-- nothing new, most of it's just a quote from a previous article. But anyway, to read it, click here.

Ahh, I'm getting so excited for the new album. I remember that bigass blog I posted a few months ago, and how I was literally bad-mouthing My Chem about their new songs. I completely regret that. Those recordings were crap quality. I should wait until the studio version to judge anything. Anyway, I listened to those recordings again, and actually really liked them. I think I like 'The Drugs' the best from The Roxy show, and second best would be 'Death Before Disco', although I'm completely psyched to hear 'Hail to the King' [previously 'Kiss the Ring/Rain' or 'L.A Heavy'] as a studio recording as well. Yes, I am still excited for 'The World is Ugly' and 'Stay Awake' too.

But other than the stuff we've already heard, I'm most excited for 'Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back'. I quote from Gerard in the AP article, "This song is about the importance of a believer over a victim." That's deep, man, and makes me really excited to hear it. Gerard also states that there is some Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge in that song, so of course I'd like it. Second best to that would be 'The Only Hope for Me is You', said to be a "cousins to Famous Last Words." I noticed how the two tracks - that I haven't heard yet - are both said to sound like something I've already heard (in this case Famous Last Words and '...Revenge'). I'm disapointed in myself for this, because I shouldn't be afraid to try new things, instead of sticking to their old sound and ONLY liking that. So the third track I'm most excited to hear is, yes, 'Black Dragon Fighting Society'. It's so freaking different than everything MCR's made in the past, but I want to hear it, and I don't know why.

Let's just fucking hope for a summer US tour. Please?!

I'm rambling. But wait, one last thing:

We all miss the Revenge-era. Admit it, we do. Everything from the red ties, to the craziness, to Warped Tour, to the amazing tracks we all love the most from Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. But, with this new album coming out - with this new sound, with this new image... will people soon be saying 'fuck, I miss Parade so much'? Will the theatrics, costumes, bleached blond hair, and beautiful story told behind the lyrics of The Black Parade soon become just as 'missed' as Revenge?

It'll probably happen with every album, though. I was just thinking about it, because in the past that would have seemed ridiculous, since I know a lot of people who just didn't enjoy Parade at all. Who knows, though.

I really should shut up now.

Mikey Hunting

Yep, that's right folks. I'm STILL Mikey hunting.
And goddammit, Mikey, you're hard to find.

But I will find you, young Mr Way. No matter what... -evil laugh-.

I ordered some merch yesterday - finally. I have a long wait ahead to pick it up, though; been shipped to my grandparents' of whom I'm visiting mid-January. I got three t-shirts - "I Survived", "Drumline", and "Military Ball" - as well as a hoodie - "Live and Die" - and those popular fingerless gloves. Hopefully the AP poster will be included in the order - however it did not clarify if it was or not.

***

Now for some updates.

So, there's a rumor going around from Mr Iero that the album's set to be released around May, 2010. It's certain to be Spring, no doubt, but a recent tweet from the guitarist's Twitter account hinted May:

ha I hear ya.we're on break for the holidays.A few loose ends to tie,but it's looking like the wait maybe over come this may.
Another article hinted March, but who knows? It could be released anytime from March to June. I'm just crossing my fingers there will be a summer US tour!

Psyched.

Pretty psyched right now...

So I happened to walk into a bookstore today, not really planning on buying anything, just waiting for my dad and brother to be done with their browsing at the electronic store. I happened to check magazines - totally not expecting to see what I've been searching ALL over for for the past month.

I bet you can guess what I'm talking about. The Alternative Press MCR magazines.

I could not BELIEVE they were there. I thought AP was only sold in the US. Apparently it's not - I'm in Dubai right now. I saw Gerard's first, and literally squealed. I got a few weird looks for that. Then I scavenged the aisle for Bob's, Ray's, Mikey's, and Frank's. I found them all, except for one. Mikey's. I'm really bummed about that, but I shall go Mikey hunting tomorrow. I'm also missing the one with all of them on the cover, but I'm not so bummed about that as I am with Mikey.

Let me tell you, if you don't have one of these magazines yet (which you motherfucking should) then, GO, get one. The article is really, really interesting. I'm not going to spoil it by summarizing it, however I might scan it once I get back home, for anyone who couldn't find it. It's pretty sad how long these have been in store, and I haven't even bought them until now, but the thing is I couldn't find them ANYWHERE. So I'm really psyched I finally did.

I also purchased the issue of Kerrang with the poster of Gerard. Woop.

So, just doing some Christmas shopping for myself.

New post from Mikey up on MCR.com.

Happy Holidays to all.

Warped Tour

[Yeah, it's about time I update this blog.]

Warped Tour; who's going?

To be honest, I don't know if I will. After seeing the list of bands that are playing, I didn't feel so pumped about going anymore. I don't even recognize most of those bands, and the several that I do are only attending part of the tour - the part that doesn't go to Denver, CO. So I'm pretty pissed off right now. I heard Alkaline Trio might go on Warped. If they're confirmed, then I'm sure to go. But if not, then it's still a maybe.

There are only 10 our of 62 bands I recognize that will be going to Denver. Is it worth it? I also noticed that last year, over 80 bands were on the tour. This year it's over 20 bands less. Was last year just special because it was Warped Tour's 15th anniversary? I'm crossing my fingers more well known bands will be added to the list eventually.

For the list of dates, click here.

Also, check out my DeviantArt, which doesn't have much at all now, but I'm sure to have some uploads later this week.

And if you must, add me on Myspace.

Thank you for reading this [terrible, boring, pointless] blog.

Dee.

TWLOHA

I was just waiting for the perfect thing to blog about today!

I had completely forgotten what special day it was today. Fortunately, thanks to my amazing friends on Twitter, I found out.

Happy 'To Write Love on Her Arms' day, everyone.

TWLOHA is an organization founded back in 2006 special to help those who self-harm, who are suicidal, suffer from depression, or suffer from addiction. TWLOHA encourages people to speak out if they need help, and to not be afraid to do so. Many music groups have also chosen to promote the organization by wearing TWLOHA merchandise - people such as Hayley Williams from Paramore, Brendon Urie and Ryan Ross from Panic at the Disco, or Amy Lee from Evanescence. You can buy your own t-shirts or merchandise from the TWLOHA website. A picture of my shirt is shown above.

Go write 'love' on your arms today, people!

Guilty as charged - I used to self-harm. I recently stopped, however, after watching this video that made me so emotional that I just HAD to stop.

Can you guess what that video was about?

My Chemical Romance. Yep, you guessed right.

I actually watched it a really long time ago, but it didn't impact me as much as it did now. My internet was being an asshole, so at the end it kept pausing and such. When it got to the part where Gerard said, "You are not a cult, but an army, and nothing is worth hurting yourself over!" in that beautiful, majestic voice of his, it paused itself, and I suddenly blubbered up and started crying. I don't know why it happened to me then - I had heard Gerard say stuff about not self-harming before. But for some reason it just impacted me this time somehow.

Impact me how? Well, impacted me enough that I opened my drawer, found that little box my dad bought me from Egypt or somewhere, and dumped out every single object I would use to self harm. Then, I wrapped them in tissues, and went to the bathroom to throw them away.

I don't know how long I stood there, with those sharp objects in my hand and my arm dangling over a trash can, but I swear. It was hard. It was hard to throw away something you've been addicted to for the past year and a half. But when I did? When I heard that soft thunk as those objects hit the bottom of the trash can? I felt considerably lighter. Like a huge burden had been lifted off my shoulders.

It was a wonderful feeling. Much better than cutting itself.

I think this was an appropriate thing to share on TWLOHA day.

Happy TWLOHA day, everybody. Remember to always love yourself.

Clear some stuff up.

So far the response to my previous post were pretty negative. I think I need to clear some things up here. To make things easier, I'll just copy it from what I commented on MCR.com.

Look, I'm sorry if I offended anybody.
It's my opinion and I should be allowed to share it.

Yes, I am still waiting for the studio versions so I can judge the songs correctly. We all are. For now, I am judging what I have heard and seen so far. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

I have changed my mind the tiniest bit and I feel bad for being so harsh on MCR in that post. It's My Chemical Romance, so I know it will be amazing, no matter what.
And I can't diss it before it even comes out.
Not that I was dissing it in the first place. I wasn't at all.

It's not like I've stopped loving My Chem or anything. I'm just worried, that's all.

Again, sorry if I offended anyone, and I hope this clears stuff up.

There. That sums it up pretty quickly.

Sorry about all of that.

P.S Like the new header?

The World Is Ugly

Alright, I think it's time I give my opinion for what's to come in My Chemical Romance's new album.

I can't say much, since all we've heard so far that will definitely be on the album is Death Before Disco, The Drugs, and Kiss The Ring. And the sound quality for the recordings people took of those songs were pretty much crap. I could barely hear anything. Or perhaps that's how the song is supposed to be.

I had already guessed there was going to be a whole new My Chemical Romance right after I heard Desolation Row, which I admit, was a huge saddening surprise for me. I crossed my fingers that that was just how the people from Watchmen wanted it to sound like, and that it was a one time thing. But once MCR played at The Roxy, I knew I was wrong.

I had seen pictures of the 'new' them, too, all of which really worried me. I don't know why, but the sight of Gerard Way with no eyeliner is kind of sad. And when I heard none of them were ever going to wear make-up again, I could have thrown something.

Recently I've gotten even more worried about the album.

In the new issue of Kerrang!, Gerard states that this is the first non-concept album ever, and it was full of a lot of new angst. To me, this is translated into, this is the first album that doesn't relate to any listeners and therefore does not reach out to our fans like our previous albums have. There were some excerpts of lyrics that hinted this, as well.

Still Alive:
We came here to rough up everyone we see

Get off the stage and ask yourself "am I still alive?"
Hm. That really doesn't hit me as much as Famous Last Words did. Doesn't really hit me at all. Gerard mentioned he wrote it from the point of view of a teenager. I'm a teenager. I cannot relate to this in any way. Of course, it's just two lines. Perhaps the rest of the song will have something else in store for us.

Death For Disco:
'Cos all the good times
They give you cancer...
Is he talking about smoking or something? I really don't get this. It made me go, what the fuck? Are they insulting cancer? Where did this shit come from, My Chem?

Trans Am:
Gravity don't mean too much to me
Is this our destiny
This world is after me...
Alright, no offence, but this sounds exactly like a song I wrote the other day. Me. A young teenager still growing up. You guys are fully-experienced rock-fucking-stars and your lyrics are the same as a little girl's?

Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back:
You can leave this word, leave it all behind
We can steal this car if your folks don't mind
We can live forever if you've got the time
This is the best out of the four. The only reason I liked it is because it reminded me a tiny bit of Revenge. Just a tiny bit. And I don't know, it sounds a bit interesting.

The Black Parade was already a huge change - Gerard with his chopped blond hair and a whole new sound - but to me this was even huger. All these lyrics that just mean nothing to me at all. An album that doesn't actually speak out and have deep meaning that I can relate to.

Yes, I know. All those excerpts of lyrics I judged the songs by are just excerpts - just a few lines. It's hard to judge a song by just a few words, but because these are the lyrics they used in Kerrang! I am guessing they are pretty much the most important lyrics in the song; the chorus or whatnot. The chorus is basically the whole song, in a way.

The only thing that is keeping me excited for this album is the small amount of hope that one certain song will be on there.

The World Is Ugly.

Now, if you look at the picture I kindly added above, you might recognize it from Mikey Way's infamous 'Practice Cam - Dry-Erase Edition'. I think we can all guess that the song titles written on that dry-erase board are most likely going to be on the new album.

And guess what? I think it's pretty obvious that in that particular Dry-Erase Edition of Practice Cam, The World Is Ugly was written on the board. Which means? The World Is Ugly will most likely be on the album.

This is great news for me. The World Is Ugly was the only new song that was actually pleasing to my ear. Stay Awake was as well, except it's not yet confirmed if Stay Awake will be on the album.

Just several minutes ago, I was listening to what I believe is the best version of TWIU out there on the internet. I will give you the link, but let me remind you, that I have absolutely nothing to do with this video. It is not mine. I am merely reccomending you watch it.

You can find it here.

I've seen people say the lyrics are pretty sucky and depressive, and very un-MCR-like. Which brings me to my next point.

The lyrics in the up-coming album might seriously suck, but the vocals and guitars might just pull me in enough to love it. Maybe, just maybe, after a few listens I might be able to be fine with this new My Chemical Romance.

Because honestly, even if the lyrics in TWIU are sucky and depressive, the vocals are goddamn wow. I mean, just listen to him scream out 'happy' in that line Are you happy now? It just sent shivers down my spine. And how it starts out slowly and quietly - like in Disenchanted - then, bam, pure guitar heaven, is just incredibly beautiful.

Who knows. I might change my mind completely when I actually get to hear some studio versions of the songs. But for now, I'm biting my fucking nails, hoping they create something that will make me love them even more.

30 Seconds To Mars: New Video

30 Seconds To Mars just posted a new tweet about their hit song, Kings and Queens.

Check out our new video for "Kings and Queens" right now on MySpace Music -- http://lnk.ms/0cwy3

Go check out their new video, now!

My Chemical Romance Updates

As almost all of you know, the popular rock magazine Kerrang! has a new exclusive about My Chemical Romance's new album. This is very exciting to know My Chemical Romance is coming back, and very soon.

Gerard Way revealed that this will be the first album that is not a concept album. Surprising? Ever since Desolation Row was released, I could have guessed. He also mentioned that they were taking their time on the record, to have "...the luxury of exploring every song.”

Thoughts? Comments?

Check out the whole article here, and go out and buy that magazine!

Fan Fictions

This post was deleted because I am completely and utterly against ANY sort of fan-fiction at the moment, especially if it involves something called 'slash'.

Blogs Are The New Fashion

Blogs are the new fashion these days.

So I guess I can say, I used to be in fashion back in the days I had a blog, but not until I forgot my password and shit. Plus it was a WordPress, Blogspot is so much cooler. And I have to admit, this new blog will be so much cooler than my old one.

Alright. So be prepared for lots of news about music. If you don't like it - don't read it. I get sick of haters. Pretty much I'll try to post about all the bands I like (album reviews, concert reviews, general news, and such) and also keep news updated on My Chemical Romance.

Okay, bam, pause for one second.

Let me repeat that rule once more.

If you don't like it - don't read it.

This is your warning. If you do not like My Chemical Romance, then don't waste your time and just get the hell out of here. The whole point of this blog is to promote music, in this case it is mostly My Chemical Romance. You will find tons of My Chemical Romance related material on this blog, so what's the point of you sticking around?

So, haters, go click that big red X and just don't waste your time leaving hate comments.

Everyone else, though, welcome!

Yes, I know, this is a shitty first post, but my first posts are always shitty.

The next few days will probably be me figuring out how to use this piece of junk - since I'm used to WordPress - but keep coming back. There will be some interesting stuff, I promise!
